Have you ever been to the state capitol and lobbied or advocated for children or a serious issue in your community?

I am a trained lobbyist who's knowledge of the legislative process is founded from years of being "at the table and informed".

I've lobbyied for:

School accreditation

Foster parents/kids

Early education initiatives

Criminal record restriction initiatives.

I've even poked and prodded law makers for bicycle road safety initiatives, trails extension funding and additional funding for Clayton's Co, public schools.

ROI

Citizen's Tax Accountability Officer

Priority

School taxes are the largest portion of your tax bill (50%+-) and you have a right to control your return on investment (ROI). The school district is ripe for improvements in academic programming, beneficial land use, effective support services and overall infrastructure maintenance. With this comes a price tag and citizens are sensitive to these needs but they also have the right to fair and unreasonable taxation. No school board member has ever tackled the return on investment (ROI) issues associated with school district taxation. I did.

I want to become your "Citizen's Tax Accountability Officer".

I want to obligate myself as the taxpayer's advocate, an insider and comunicator for "your" return on investment (ROI) of school tax dollars and the district's tax status.

We need a professional that represents the "homeowner" with or without children in the district.
There is a need to rid the district of those budget decisions that unnecessarily tax or increase our taxes and dangerously keeps the district from preparing for financial downturns without reductions , layoffs and furloughs of our staff.
Emphasis on adjusting a lower millage rate is the only answer for a downturn without affecting the quality of education and services our children will receive. We are maxed out and have no room for revenue or growth. I want to change this practice.
